Okay, first the bad news. I'm seeing fairly consistently that some people are coming to raid that don't do anything the rest of the week to gear their toons or prep with consumables. This isn't fair to the rest of the raiders that do. If you are showing up, and you have a full set of standard non-set gear, that's ok to start raiding initially, as long as you do the dailies and have artifact enhancements. It is not okay to continue to show up, week after week, with the same starter gear when you can get Tionese set gear from the normal mode 4-man instances or Columi set gear from the hard mode 4-mans. How do you get that gear?
1. Be prepared and plan for the instances. (lots of info on the net/youtube)
2. Form a guild group of new 50s and do it. Don't wait for those of us that have already geared and went through the pain of learning the instance to carry you through it. You will learn way more about how to play your toon by doing it the hard way than you will by geared players carrying you through the instance in 30 minutes.
3. PUG. Yes, I said it, PUG. It's a great opportunity to meet/recruit new players and represent nyX. (I've gotten most of my gear from PUGs believe it or not)
Right now, we don't have a lot of 50s showing up to the raids, so people aren't really getting left out of raids. Eventually, there will be enough to run the 16-mans, which is our goal, but there will be some time in which we will have more people than can raid. We will do our best to rotate people in the raid groups. How will we decide who we leave and who we take? Well first and formost we will follow the sign-ups and group make-up needed to win, but, and here's the kicker, if you are one of those people coming not prepared or doing anything to gear, you may be the one sidelined.
Now the good news! We've killed our first boss in Hard Mode last night. We are shifting to 8-man Hard Modes. It is even more important now that you gear properly for the instances. Normal Modes will be semi-pugged as needed. If we have a majority of players online that want to do it, we may pug in a few to complete a full raid and do some runs.
